Microdermabrasion

Microdermabrasion is a non-surgical procedure which rejuvenates the skin by improving superficial skin problems. Microdermabrasion involves a gentle exfoliation of the outer layer of skin using tiny crystals (Aluminium Dioxide Crystals) which remove the surface layer of accumulated dead, dry and epidermal cells. It is also referred to as mechanical exfoliation or micro-resurfacing. When the skin surface is disturbed, it increases the cells metabolism and stimulates the production of collagen thus improving the condition of the skin.

Microdermabrasion is commonly used to treat the following:

Mild to moderate sun damage

Scarring

Fine lines and superficial wrinkles

Microdermabrasion for acne scars

The results of microdermabrasion are immediate and your skin usually feels tighter and smoother, although multiple treatments are usually needed to achieve the full effect for clients with deeper skin concerns. Microdermabrasion may be repeated at one to two week intervals for a series of 6 – 10 treatments until the desired clinical effect is achieved.
